ALSO, a quick update for ya. This is my LAST WEEK of work. After this, I'll be going on medical leave, so I'll have a lot more time to write and draw and the new stuff should start popping up more regularly going forward. I'm going to try to switch up my uploading schedule from the way it's been in the past. Instead of going long stretches and then dumping like 5-10 pictures up all at once, I'm going to try my hand at posting one or two pics regularly, so I hope that'll work out better for everyone. Hey, guys! It's that time again, and there are updates afoot. I apologize that it's late today, but a lot has happened and I have a lot of update stuff to go through. So let's jump right into it! SCHEDULE AND LIFE STUFF Okay. So my schedule is about to be changing up quite a bit. When it comes to work, I have just one more person I have to train to cover for me while I'm out. So that'll take a few more days, and then I'm absolutely, 100% cutting back my hours bit by bit. (4 days next week, 3 days the week after, and decreasing until surgery day.) I'll work part time until I get that surgery on my knee in February, and THEN I'm going to have to step away from work to recover for a while. Not going to lie to you- I'm okay, but I have to focus on my mental health a bit. I know this job is very demanding and it takes up most of my time, but it truly is my dream job. But living with constant knee pain, having to step down from the job I love, and having the cost of this surgery weighing on me certainly have me facing a bout of depression at the moment. I don't really like to talk about that kind of heavy topic much, but it means a lot to me that you're all sticking with me through this. I deeply appreciate each and every one of you. And I promise that I'm going to do my best to make it all worthwhile. The last few months have been pretty rocky, but part of my new year's resolution is to get my life back on track. That includes getting my knee fixed, getting my steady job back and managing my hours better after I recover, finishing the first 2 books in my book series, and, of course, fixing my online availability and my DeviantArt upload schedule. It's a new year and I'm determined to end 2023 in a better place than I've been at these last couple years. So it's all uphill from here! HOW THAT IMPACTS DEVIANTART DAYS Long story short, it really doesn't affect it too much in the long run. Most Thursdays will still be the main days that I hop online in the afternoons/evenings to hang out. Just over this next week and a half, I'm going to be getting some things in order for my surgery and my time off. Starting Monday this coming week, my work schedule is going to be lightening up as they start to phase me out of work for a while. Because I'll have more time and less to do, SOON I'll be able to spend a little time here when it's not Thursday too (sending a reply or two when I wake up and/or another reply or two before I go to bed. That should be happening more consistently in probably about 2 weeks. It's really just these next 2 weeks that are up in the air. After that, work won't be much of a factor and all of the arrangements will be squared away. ART STUFF FEBRUARY IS THE TIME. Around mid-February, I am going to be laid off so I can get that surgery. Once that happens, I'm going to be diving back into drawing and writing. So after that, the new stuff will be coming out steadily. Since I'm not going to have a job for a while, I'm going to devote at least an hour each day to drawing, inking, and/or digital coloring. ALSO, I'm probably going to change up my uploading habits a bit. Instead of going for long spans without uploads and then suddenly uploading a random burst of new stuff, I think I'm going to try my hand at uploading one or two things at a time much more often. I hope that'll work out with all of you, so please let me know what you think. Again, that should be starting up around mid-February, so that'll be exciting, I think! NEXT THURSDAY AND THE IMMEDIATE FUTURE I also just want to give you a heads up that next Thursday, I WILL NOT be able to get online, sadly. Like I said, the next week and a half or so will be a little weird as I get some final things taken care of (medical stuff, work stuff, trying to get some unemployment assistance for when I get cut from work, and HOPEFULLY seeing if I'll be eligible for some sort of cheap health insurance when I'm temporarily unemployed.) After that week and a half, it'll be smooth sailing. And after the past few months being so chaotic, I CANNOT tell you how good it feels to finally be able to say that. So I'll be online here and there for a little bit over the next few days, but the end is in sight at long last, and, even though it's bittersweet, I'm looking forward to this rocky chapter being behind me. Hey, guys. I'm sorry, but I'm taking today off. I just got some bad news from the doctor, and I need surgery on my knees. I know it's not the end of the world or anything like that, so no need to worry. It's for the best in the long run, but it's just going to be a very costly procedure. I'm just feeling a bit down at the moment. Probably going to go to bed and sleep it off. I should feel better once it's had a little while to sink in. On the bright side, my work is ACTUALLY slowing down, so I'll have time to do some stuff! I'm going to use some of that time to hop online for a bit here and there over the next few days to talk and RP with you. So I'll be in touch over the next few days. Can't wait to chat with you.
